The Technical Subcommittee of the Indian Drug Manufacturers Association (IDMA), in order to extend its contribution to the Indian Pharmacopoeia Addendum 2004, has called for inputs from the interested companies regarding new monographs and amendments to be included in the forthcoming edition. The Indian Pharmacopoeia (IP) Committee is currently working on the IP Addendum 2004, which is expected to be released by October this year. The IDMA's Technical, R&D & QA Sub-committee, which includes senior members of IP Committee, has been a key contributor to the IP compilation. As per the already compiled data, the Addendum 2004 will have 10 herbal monographs in addition to new drugs introduced in the 2000-'04 period including few more antiretroviral drugs. The 2004 Addendum to IP would be published by October this year, it is learnt. In addition to the Addendum 2004, the Committee is also planning to publish two special editions of pharmacopoeia in 2006. These two includes the fresh edition of Indian Pharmacopoeia and the second edition of the veterinary supplement. The first edition of veterinary pharmacopoeia, which was brought out in 2000 in India, was the first ever attempt in the world to prepare and compile the monographs of veterinary drugs.
