Pharmexcil to hold seminar on export schemes, foreign trade policy

The Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council will be organizing a seminar on government schemes like MAI / MDA, EXIM Bank facilities, ECGC & Highlights of Foreign Trade Policy (2004-2009) at Hyderabad on September 11, 2004. The seminar will cover various schemes that are available under MDA/MAI of the Department of Commerce, EXIM bank's role in export promotion, ECGC, Customs & Excise matters and the highlights of the Foreign Trade Policy announced on August 31, 2004. Senior Officials from the ministry of commerce & industry, Government of India, Joint DGFT, drugs control department, EXIM Bank and ECGC will be participating in the event. Corporates from various segments of Pharma industry are expected to attend the event, which will provide a platform for putting forward suggestions and seeking clarifications on key issues from Senior Government officials, Dr PV Appaji, executive director of Pharmexcil said. The Council, formed on May 12,2004, has been set up specifically to promote exports of pharmaceuticals including bulk drugs, intermediates, formulations, herbals and also clinical research services.
