IIL bags order for FMD vaccine from Iraq Govt

The Hyderabad-based Indian Immunologicals Ltd (IIL), a wholly owned subsidiary of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) has received an order for 2 million doses of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) vaccine for the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of Iraq. IIL was preferred over other international suppliers such as Vetal of Turkey, Merial of France and Bayer of Germany, an official release said here. IIL is one of the world's largest producer of FMD vaccine and a leading supplier of animal vaccines to Iraq Government. The supplies came to a halt following the outbreak of war in Iraq, and with the new Government in place, IIL expects the procurement to continue with repeated orders, the release added.
