The award was presented by Daks, a Forbes Group Venture. This is for the first time that a bio-pharmaceutical company executive has bagged the award. The award is given to individuals, who envision and execute novel strategies to succeed during chaotic situations at work. It also recognizes talent and encourages mentorship, role models and brand leadership. In addition, the award is also an assessment of the multi-task, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills of the individual manning the marketing operations. Daks, a Forbes Group Venture had short-listed the award from a comprehensive list of finalists, on the basis of Biocon 's efforts in the last five years where it proved itself as a technology-driven biopharmaceutical enterprise which is present in 70 countries world wide. The key differentiator for bagging the award was based on Biocon's efforts in handling critical issues especially while marketing Lovastatin, Pravastatin and Simvastain in the regulated regions of US and Europe. "Maintaining the growth over the years at the same pace is not easy. We are able to sustain this growth because of a well-knit marketing team support from our customers," stated an unassuming Bamzai in a telephonic interview with Pharmabiz. The award ceremony was held at the Hyatt Regency in Mumbai.
