Johnson & Johnson Ltd. has introduced Sterrad 100S, claimed to be the world's most efficient low temperature sterilisation system, in India. This innovative new system offers a rapid 55-minute cycle time, which delivers improved turnaround time, increased instrument utilisation and measurable cost efficiencies.
Using breakthrough gas plasma technology, Sterrad 100S provides dry, low-temperature sterilisation of both heat-stable and heat- and moisture-sensitive instruments in a single system, such as rigid scopes and cameras. Also, as the Sterrad System provides terminally sterilised "shelf ready" instruments that are processed, dried and wrapped, which allows them to be stored until needed by the surgeons, says the release.
As Sterrad's only by-products are water vapour and oxygen, it eliminates the need for expensive monitoring equipment without compromising on user safety or environmental protection. Sterrad 100S offers the twin advantages of rapid cycles and reduced instrument inventories. Other key benefits include lowered instrument repair costs, simplified operation and increased productivity, the release added.
