Sivani Scientifics, a Hyderabad-based Biotech and Pharmaceutical Reagent company has signed a Technical & Marketing Collaboration Agreement with Agencourt Bioscience Corporation, MA, USA. Manoranjan Patra, director, Sivani Scientifics, told Pharmabiz that the collaboration will enable offering of cutting edge technology based products which are based on the principle of SPRI, a technology developed at MIT, USA about more than a decade ago and which has contributed almost half of the Human Genome Mapping Project and subsequent genome studies across the research labs. Today, all the big and successful Genomic Laboratories around the world are heavily dependant on these reagents, marketed globally by Agencourt. The products range from PCR Product Clean up for various downstream applications, sequencing reaction clean up, RNA extraction and clean up for RT PCR, Genomic DNA isolation for various down stream applications and plasmid purification, he added. Sivani is to market the products amongst Indian industry and academia. The net cost of genomic study can come down drastically with such technology offering, Patra opined.
