Grandix ties up with Italian co for distributions of Chromogenic Substrate

Grandix pharmaceuticals Ltd., the Chennai-based Pharmaceutical manufacturing company, has entered into a tie up with the Italy-based, Chromogenix group of company, for marketing Chromogenic Substrates in India. Grandix will market chromogenic substrates from Chromogenix with a portfolio of more than 70 products in the field of coagulation and fibrinolysis throughout India. Chromogenic Substrate, the synthetic peptides that react with proteolytic enzymes in the human body under the formation of colour, is imported and starting supply in India for the first time, says Dr. Ramamurthy, Managing Director, Grandix Pharmaceuticals. Grandix has started importing chromogenic substrates already and would now have adequate stocks that which would be supplied to R&D labs, he said. In the current financial year, Grandix is expected to sell Rs 50 lakhs worth of Chromogenic substrates in India, said sources. In the financial year 2006-2007, the company is expected to increase the market to Rs 1 crore and in 2007-2008, Rs 2.5 crore of Chromogenic substrates. Grandix pharmaceuticals Ltd., is currently preparing for Global Audit like US FDA and UK MHRA, though it already conforms to US FDA norms. The Rs 32-crore company is expecting to make a Rs 100-crore turnover in the financial year 2006-2007. Chromogenix, the Italy-based company, is focusing on diagnostic using chromogenic substrates with a portfolio of more than 70 products in the field of coagulation and fibrinolysis. The group of company of instrumentation laboratory, chromogenix works with hospitals, clinical laboratories, blood banks and pharmaceutical industry worldwide. Chromogenix’s product line includes individual chromogenic substrates as well as complete kits including all the reagents needed to perform specific analysis, on automated instruments.
