A two-week long staff development programme, sponsored by AICTE, was held under the auspices of Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS), Manipal between August 22 and September 3, 2005.
Thirty-five pharmacy teachers from several colleges within and outside Karnataka took part in the programme, which dealt with new concepts, methods and technology in pharmacy education and research. Dr. MS Valiathan, the first Vice Chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education inaugurated the programme on August 22.
Eminent resource persons drawn from industry and academia presented lectures and demonstrations on various interesting topics.
R Mallikeswari, Marina Kolnad, NSGM Institute of Pharmacy, Mangalore and Priyal R Patel gave feedback on the programme on behalf of the participants. Dr. N Udupa proposed a vote of thanks at the valedictory function.
