Bilcare's clinical services facility inaugurated at Pune

The new clinical services facility of Bilcare Ltd has been inaugurated at Pune yesterday. Dr. Christoph Moeschli, Head-Clinical Packaging of Novartis Pharma AG, Switzerland inaugurated the facility. According to a company release, with the addition of the new facility, the company becomes the first company in Asia to have an operations facility for clinical supplies. This facility will support the pharma companies in packaging and distribution of their clinical supplies and integrate their global clinical trial requirements efficiently. The core of global clinical service encompasses the manufacturing, packaging, randomization, storage and distribution, and returns and destruction management of clinical supplies for clinical trials. Mohan Bhandari, chairman & managing director of the company, said, "This facility is one more milestone in Team Bilcare's quest for global leadership in pharma services. With this facility, Bilcare is now capable to serve its global pharma clients in the management of their global clinical trials anywhere in Asia, Americas and Europe." The recently acquired ProClinical (now called Bilcare Inc., USA) along with the distribution centers in major regions of the world makes the company a comprehensive preferred partner for global clinical services. The US facility, which is spread over 14 acres, is FDA and DEA approved and offers a range of services including clinical services, research services for formulation and analytical development, along with management of controlled substances, management of clinical trials by IVRS and effective closure of clinical trials by returns management, added the release.
