Homeopathy, being practiced for over 250 years and popular in 66 countries as an official healthcare system, has been growing at a rate of 25 per cent every year in comparison to the 10 per cent growth shown by the pharma industry, according to Dr Mukesh Batra, chairman and managing director of Dr Batra's Positive Health Clinic. Homeopathy is well accepted in countries such as England, Germany, France and the USA and has been found suitable for latrogenic disorders, stress, environmental, immunological and psychological problems, he said while addressing the press over a video conference from Mumbai on Monday. It has proven its effectiveness in times of epidemics and contagious diseases like cholera, Japanese encephalitis, dengue etc. Homeopathic practitioners have found that while treating patients in an epidemic, a core set of symptoms emerges from which an over-arching remedy can be used to treat nearly all cases and it is also used in a prophylactic manner. Homeopathy is one of the fastest growing alternative medicines available today. By triggering the body's own self-healing abilities, homeopathic remedies are a safe and effective way to treat everyday ailments as well as acute and chronic symptoms of mind and body, he opined. Dr Batra said that the clinic has treated diseases like Wilson's disease, myasthenia gravis, satis dermatitis and leprosy.
