AMMOI to conduct its 5th State convention

The Ayurvedic Medicine Manufacturers Organisation of India (AMMOI) will conduct its fifth State convention on 29th and 30th of October 2005 at Thrissur, Kerala. A seminar on heavy metals in Ayurvedic formulations will be conducted as the part of convention on 29th October. The pre-convention seminar will discuss various topics, including usage of modern techniques in standardisation of Ayurvedic preparations, challenges in standardisation of herbal drugs and traditional medicine, mineralogical aspects of Ayurvedic raw drugs and compound, Ayurvedic herbal preparations, influence of purificatory and incineratory methods in toxicological aspects of Ayurvedic formulations, metalic toxicity and management in Siddha etc. “Experts from prominent research institutes will present the topics and the convention will discuss the various aspects of GMP, CARe-keralam, and the legal terms on acquiring exise licence,” said Dr. D.Ramanathan, general secretary, AMMOI. 150 deligates from various parts of the country will participate in the convention at Hotel Elite International, Thrissur. The convention will be inaugurated by Panabaka Lakshmi, Union Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare, and the meeting will be presided by K.K.Ramachandran, Minister for Health, Kerala State. “The convention will honour veterans of Ayurveda treatment, Vaidyamadham Cheriya Narayanan Namboodiri, Ashtavaidyan E.T. Narayanan Mooss, Vaidyan V.S. Parameswaran Nair, Dr. V.P. Sidhan and Dr. N.P.P Namboodiri considering their invaluable services to Ayurveda,” said Dr. Ramanathan. The Ayurvedic Medicine Manufacturers Organisation of India commenced its operations, with the name Kerala Ayurvedic Medicine Manufacturers Association, in 1984 focusing to provide various types of platforms to discuss, solve or trying to redress the various matters as well as grievances related to the industry.
