NIPER to conduct training programme for analytical staff from SSI pharma units

The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is conducting a training programme for analytical staff from the SSI sector under capacity building project, sponsored by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and funded by World Bank, from 19th-23rd December 2005 at NIPER. Almost 50 participants from SSIs from all over the country and speakers from academia, industry and regulatory sector have confirmed their participation. Issues related with the upgradation of the analytical and quality control facilities in the wake of the GLP guidelines of the Central Government would be discussed in detail at the programme. According to NIPER sources, the participants will be given comprehensive training on analytical functions in SSIs in light of revised Schedule M, significance and techniques of QA and QC, pharmacopoeial testing: expectations of regulatory agencies, reference standards, test standards and reagents involved, documentation in a laboratory engaged in test and analysis of pharmaceuticals, analytical method development, equipment qualification, pharmaceutical microbiological testing, BET testing of parenterals, cleaning of glassware and calibration of glassware and other analytical equipments used for pharmaceutical analysis, method development for non-pharmacopoeial drugs, impurity and stability indicating analysis, HPLC principles instrumentation and trouble shooting etc.
