Three US Patents of Aurobindo Pharma have been selected for the Patent Appreciation Award by the Indian Drug Manufacturers' Association (IDMA) for the year 2004-2005.
The company has been selected for the award for - preparation of pure Citalopram (Depression), a process for Lactonization to produce Simvastatin (Hypercholesterolemia) and process for producing highly pure Simvastatin (Hypercholesterolemia).
This is a national level award, which will be given at a function to be held at Mumbai on December 17, 2005 on the eve of IDMA's 44th Annual Day Celebrations. The chief minister of Maharashtra is expected to present the award, stated a company release.
The company has over 160 patents filed in various countries.
