Ranbaxy's Toansa plant receives national awards for excellence in water management

Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd's manufacturing plant at Toansa (Punjab) received the two national awards for excellence in water management, National Award for Excellence in Water Management 2005 as an 'Excellent Water Efficient Unit' and 'Most Useful Presentation' According to a company release, seventy five medium and large scale companies from all over India had participated in the competition of which 14 companies including Ranbaxy emerged as winners and were honoured with the award for 'Excellent Water Efficient Units'. The awards were presented at a function organised by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) in Hyderabad. Ranbaxy's manufacturing facilities have effluent treatment plants (ETP's) from the time of its operation and the Toansa plant has ETP systems since its inception in 1986. The company invests substantially in the up-gradation and maintenance of its ETP. Ranbaxy's world class state-of-the-art production facilities meet the stringent requirements of various international health and regulatory agencies like the US FDA, TGA-Australia, MCA-UK and WHO, among others. The facilities are regularly audited by these bodies. The company's manufacturing plants for active pharmaceutical ingredients and dosage forms also comply with the requirements of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
