K'taka govt testing lab declares four products sub-standard

Karnataka Drugs Control Department's test laboratory has banned four drugs and declared them as sub-standard. Drugs that fail to comply with the quality standard include Hisolone -10 and Predinisolone tablets IP. 10 mg, Batch No. H 5001 manufactured by Himanshu Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. The third product found to be of sub-standard quality is ostramycin (Batch No. OP-1004), manufactured by Orchid Spa Pvt. Ltd. The fourth drug is doxycycline capsules (IP batch No. 039v), manufactured by British Laboratories, Vapi. The chemists, wholesalers, doctors, hospitals and nursing homes are warned not to stock, sell or use these drugs and in case they hold any stocks they need to inform the concerned area drugs inspector or assistant drugs controller. The public is also warned not to use these drugs, stated a release from the government analyst laboratory.
