Unichem Labs' net double at Rs 18.58 cr in Q3

Unichem Laboratories' net profit has taken a quantum jump and reached at Rs 18.58 crore during the quarter ended December 2005 as compared to Rs 9.30 crore, registering a growth of 100 per cent. This translates to annualise EPS of Rs 21.76 in FY06 as against Rs 10.88 in FY05. Unichem Laboratories recorded sales of Rs 111.86 crore in the third quarter as compared to Rs 97.30 crore in the previous year, registering a growth of 14.9 per cent. This growth was achieved by the excellent performance of the export business. Unichem launched six new products during this quarter. Unichem is ranked 19th as per ORG MAT November 2005. Five products of the company namely Ampoxin, Trika, Uni-Enzyme, Losar and Losar-H rank are among the top 300 products as per ORG MAT November 2005. Unichem's subsidiary Nice Generics Limited recorded sales of GBP 3.71 million in Q3 of 2005-06 as compared to GBP 2.43 million during similar period of last year. Unichem's total income for the nine months ending December 31, 2005 is Rs 368.04 crore as compared to Rs 346.52 crore for the nine months ending December 31, 2004, recording a growth of over 6.1 per cent. The net profit for the nine months ending December 31, 2005 stood at Rs 68.31 crore as compared to Rs 38.31 crore during the corresponding period recording a growth of over 78.3 per cent.
