International seminar on IP in Delhi from Feb 6-10

The Institute of Intellectual Property Development (IIPD), promoted by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry, is organising an international seminar on strategic use of IP for economic and social development from February 6th-10th, 2006 in New Delhi. The event is supported by World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) and Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce &Industry. About 45 participants from the Asia Pacific, Middle East and other regions will be participating in the seminar, stated a FICCI release. The five-day programme aims to discuss and debate the various policy issues faced by various sectors in the Indian economy and share experiences with the participants from the other regions on the contribution IP can make towards economic development of the country. The focus sectors include pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. Representatives from Indian industry, senior WIPO officials and experts from the Asia Pacific region will be speaking at the seminar.
