Rasayana therapy, a treatment method defined by ancient ayurveda experts, has proved that the ageing process of a patient, who has undergone the treatment, has been reversed with increase in testosterone level, claims Dr. Nedungadi V Haridas, chief physician, Dr. Nedungadi Ayurvedic Centre (Dr.NAC) and proprietor of Erady and Raaja Pharma. The treatment has been conducted by a group of three doctors led by Haridas.
The body conditions of an Italian patient have been documented through the tests before and after the treatment. The total duration of the treatment was 120 days in which 41 days were scheduled for 'Kutipraveshika', the treatment entirely conducted in a closed room, where the patient is instructed to be alone for all the days.
The result of tests conducted before, on the course of time and after the treatment showed that the weight of the patient reduced by 13.6 kgs, within the time of treatment, without any hazardous physical exercise. The results also showed that the blood pressure of the patient reduced from 144/92mm HG to 120/80 mm HG. The fat and fat mass reduced and the insulin level was not altered much even though the blood sugar level reached normal of 92 within 120 days, claimed Haridas.
The treatment has been conducted in a special 'Kuti', after applying a pre-treatment regimens of Sirovasthi (7days), Nasyam (7days), Snehapanam (5days), Pre-vamanam (3days), Vamanam (1day), Peyadi Kramam (9days),Virechanam (1day), Peyadi Kramam (8days), Vasthi (8days), and a continuation of such regiments after 41 days of Kutipraveshika, says the study.
"We are not claiming that we have found something new. But we have proven that what was said in the Vedas is applicable even in these modern days. The allopathic doctors who conducted the medical tests during the course of time had given a great support, due to which we were able to prove the truth," Haridas told Pharmabiz.
Dr. P.T. Chacko, chief medical officer of Cholayil Sanjeevanam Treatment Centre of Medimix Group of Companies and Dr. Madhusoodhanan, chief physician, KAPL also participated in the test. Dr. PA. Raveendran, former principal, Kottakkal Ayurveda College; Dr. V.P. Siddhan, chairman, Medimix Goup of Companies; Prof. V. Mohan, diabetologist and chairman, Dr. Mohan's M.V. Diabetes Specialists Centre and Madras Diabetes Research Foundation; Dr .K. Gireesh, consultant physician, Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai and S. Gopalakrishnan, professor and head of department, Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Education and Research, JIPMER, Pondichery were consulted continuously in the course of treatment, added Haridas.
The group is also planning to conduct a similar treatment under the continuous monitoring of the Department of AYUSH, for proving the method with authority, and plans to treat six patients to prove the efficacy or the treatment are in progress, informed Haridas.
He said that the method of treatment would also be tested in leprosy patients, HIV/AIDS patients. Tests will also be conducted on women, as ancient science as ancient science does not provide much information about the treatment on women.
