Opto Circuits' net jumps by 120% in Q3

Opto Circuits (India) Ltd, leading manufacturer of healthcare equipments, achieved impressive performance during the third quarter ended December 2005. Its net profit increased by 119.7 per cent to Rs 10.02 crore from Rs 4.56 crore in the corresponding period of last year. The net sales touched Rs 32.18 crore from Rs 99.11 crore, registering a growth of 68.4 per cent. Its quarter EPS worked out to Rs 3.74 on enhanced equity capital of Rs 26.81 crore, resulted from bonus issue in the ratio of 1:2. For the nine months period ended December 2005, the company's top line moved up by 59.8 per cent to Rs 80.58 crore and its net profit increased by 89.1 per cent to Rs 22.69 crore from Rs 12 crore. The sales from US increased to Rs 43.79 crore from Rs 28.87 crore in the corresponding nine months of the last year. Vinod Ramanani, chairman and managing director, Opto Circuits, said, "Our renewed focus on international markets has contributed wholly to these figures. The acquisition of EuroCor is a matter of great satisfaction and we are happy to announce that the final formalities of the acquisition are now complete."
