Dishman Pharmaceutical's standalone net shot up by 108% in Q3

Dishman Pharmaceuticals and Chemicals, an Ahmedabad-based ISO 14001 pharma company, reported impressive performance during the quarter ended December 2005. The company's standalone net profit went up sharply by 107.7 per cent to Rs 18.24 crore from Rs 8.78 crore in the similar period of last year. Its net sales increased by 33.9 per cent to Rs 57.80 crore from Rs 43.18 crore. The earning per share worked out to Rs 2.66 as compared to Rs 1.28 in the last period. Revenues from CRAMS division during third quarter improved to Rs 35.05 crore from Rs 17.65 crore and that from marketable molecules reached Rs 22.75 crore from Rs 25.53 crore. The profit before interest and tax of CRAMS division went up sharply to Rs 14.24 crore from Rs 6.28 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year. For the nine months period ended December 2005, Dishman's standalone net profit increased by 90.5 per cent to Rs 38.69 crore from Rs 20.31 crore in the previous period. The standalone net sales moved up by 35.5 per cent to Rs 151.90 crore from Rs 112.11 crore. The consolidated net sales and net profit for the nine months period improved by 23.4 per cent and 75.2 per cent to Rs 191.38 crore and Rs 42.41 crore respectively. The Registrar of the Companies, Cyprus has struck off Dishman Cyprus Ltd with effect from November 18, 2005. Dishman Pharma has set up a new wholly owned subsidiary called Dishman Switzerland Ltd in the months of November 2005.
