HCL Technologies ties with Synchron for clinical trial solutions

HCL Technologies Ltd has entered into a strategic alliance with India's leading contract research organisation (CRO), Synchron Research Services Pvt. Ltd., Ahmedabad, to jointly provide innovative solutions like clinical trial and data management on drugs and devices. HCL will provide software consulting, infrastructure management and BPO services in clinical trials and clinical data management that is run by Synchron across the globe. This symbiotic engagement would enable Synchron to access the company's customer in the IT services related to clinical trial space and the company will be able to utilise Synchron's reach in US, Japan, European and Asia Pacific markets, states the company release. Pradep Nair, vice president and head, life sciences practice, HCL Technologies, New Jersey, US said, "This engagement takes our life sciences proposition to the next level. We have got this opportunity to work with a prominent player like Synchron in the area of clinical data management, which is a validation of our strategy and an extension of the already strong relationship." Synchron and HCL will collaborate with each other to engage in technology development activities related to clinical trials, which will be further utilised to source new projects and to develop market offering for the jointly developed clinical trial products. Synchron is actively working in the field of clinical research of drugs and devices, from phase I to phase IV, including bioequivalence, bioavailability, pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic studies, statistical analysis and data management. The company offers clinical trial and data management services to domestic and international pharmaceutical and bio-pharmaceutical companies.
