IPA president among international speakers at Interphex USA

Subodh Priolkar, President of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association is among the honoured list of international expert speakers addressing the delegates to Interphex 2006. Subodh Priolkar and James Fan, President of Jowin Communications, China, will talk on the subject "Pharmaceutical Industry in the World's Major Emerging Economies - India and China" on Tuesday, 10:15am-11:00am at the Special Events Hall. "With a combined population of over 8 times that of the USA, and GDP growth rates of double the USA's, these two countries are causing the world's major economies to pay close attention. Between both countries they boast 6,800 approved pharmaceutical manufacturers. Drug manufacturing and R&D in both countries is developing at a phenomenal pace" notes the organisers. The two experts will speak on the current situation from China and India, and the threats and opportunities before the industry in these countries. The session is moderated by Rich Vallari, Publisher, Drug Discovery Today, G&P. Apart from this, on Tuesday afternoon 2:00pm to 3:00pm, he will speak on the subject, 'The Indian Pharmaceutical Industry - a Detailed Analysis' at Room 1E17. Subodh Priolkar, president of the IPA for the year 2004 - 2006, currently is managing director of Valois India Pvt. Ltd, and has vast experience in pharmaceutical industries in India. He is a graduate in pharmacy with postgraduate management qualification from University of Mumbai. He is also the chairman of Bombay College of Pharmacy, and is a Fellow of Indian Pharmaceutical Association. IPA is the national professional body of pharmacists engaged in various facets of the profession of pharmacy in India. The association has over 11,000 members and more than 67 branches.
