Eurodrug to register 6 NCEs in India by 2010

Eurodrug Laboratories, India, has firmed up plans to register six new chemical entities (NCEs) in India for domestic marketing before 2010. The company is part of the Netherlands-based pharmaceutical MNC, Eurodrug Laboratories Group. The Indian entity is setting eyes at achieving business to the tune of Rs 250 crore by 2015, with its current business at Rs 100 crore. B Prabha Shankar, country manager, Eurodrug Laboratories, India, said, Eurodrug has plans to make India a centre for collaborations for in-licensing of branded generics, APIs sourcing and marketing. India has abundant opportunities in the areas of APIs, custom synthesis, clinical research and formulations development. Eurodrug Laboratories with its Indian operations based at Hyderabad, since January 1998, has out-licensed Eurodrug's products to Ranbaxy Laboratories, Dr Reddy's Laboratories, Micro labs and Macro Therapeutics and Chemicals. It has taken up in-licensing of branded generics of Eurodrug's international marketing from Micro Labs, Themis Medicare and Themis Laboratories. It is outsourcing active pharmaceutical ingredients required for Eurodrug from Sun Pharma, Sri Krishna Pharma, Lake Chemicals, Suven Life Sciences, Gulf Oil Corporation, Hetero Drugs, SMS Pharma and USV Ltd. It is also outsourcing clinical research work such as clinical trials, bio-equivalence and bioavailability studies from Indian clinical research organizations like Sipra Labs, Asian Clinical Trials.
