Axa sets up IV fluids facility at Roorkee

Axa Parenterals Ltd. is setting up a new sterile manufacturing facility at Roorkee in Uttaranchal for manufacturing sterile formulations. The plant will start production within two-three months. "The state-of-art plant using the latest Form-Fill-Seal (FFS) technology plant has been designed as per USFDA and EU regulatory guidelines. With this USFDA standard facility, we target the domestic market of I.V.fluids, LVP's & SVP's, blood expanders, amino acids, artificial colloids for Volume/ Fluid Therapy and others". Sachin Mittal, direcotr, Axa Parenterals Ltd., Roorkee, said. According to Manoj Agarwal, director of the company, the objective of Axa Parenterals Ltd. is to present alternative solutions using new generation products, which are risk free cost effective and are formulated with latest FFS technology under aseptic environment. The company has imported two FFS Machines from Rommelag-Germany. One machine has capacity to produce LVP of 500 ml. and 100 ml. for around 90,000 bottles per day, while another machine for SVP will produce 1,20,000 units per day. This is the first plant of its type in Uttaranchal and aims to have a USD 10 million turnover in first year, claimed company sources.
