B2B Software Technologies, an Enterprise Solutions Provider, has recently introduced a B2B Pharma Vertical built on Microsoft Dynamics. The business solution caters to the needs of the pharmaceutical industry for a variety of functions including finance, supply chain, manufacturing and relationship management. "The system helps pharma industry in addressing the needs of regulatory compliance, traceability and shelf life management. Special emphasis is placed on compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements while executing the business processes," said Samantha Reddy, CEO of B2B Software Technologies. The solution enables key functionalities such as inventory control, serial / lot tracking, master formula records, labeling / packaging issues, yield management, quality analysis reports, stage-wise process description and deviation reports, standard operating procedures. M Narayana Reddy, managing director, Virchow Labs and senior VP, Bulk Drug Manufacturers Association, said, "Documentation needs are growing every day and industry today requires personnel having expertise in documentation, to meet GMP. Companies exporting their drugs and pharmaceuticals lay special emphasis on quality control and the industry requires ERPs that fulfill these needs." According to Tariq Farooqui, director-Vertical Business Development, Microsoft Dynamics in Asia Pacific, "50 per cent of ERPs fail as personnel don't use ERPs as expected. Adoption of ERP drives success. The main objective of any ERP is to bring together processes, people and technologies. ERPs should empower people to do work more effectively, thus an ERP should be people centric." "Software companies should come up with ERP solutions that are specific to pharmaceutical exports, as majority of Indian pharma companies are looking at foraying into overseas markets. It has been learnt that IT solutions, documentation and data storage are the critical areas that industry should give due attention to," said Dr PV Appaji, executive director, Pharmexcil. "Quality assurance has superceded the significance of quality control as the former assures the quality, efficacy and safety of a drug. A thing not recorded is not done, is the dictum of any GMP, more so in a pharmaceutical industry, while it is easy to demonstrate the practices followed during any stage of manufacturing, it is probably difficult to demonstrate the same in respect of drugs that are already manufactured. The only way to prove or track to the then prevailing situation or process can be possible only by 'documentation' and software tools enabling that is the need of the hour," said Hanumantha Rao, ex-drugs controller of Andhra Pradesh. B2B Software Technologies is a Microsoft Certified Partner in India with its ERP services ISO 9001:2000 compliant. The company has world-wide operations through its wholly owned subsidiaries in USA, Germany and Singapore.
