A foray into Mexican pharma

One of the fastest growing pharmaceutical markets in the world, Mexico is currently valued at US $ 11.3 billion. Nearly 390 domestic and MNC firms are engaged in manufacture of pharmaceutical products in Mexico. Mexico has also earned a name of repute as a key player in medical devices industries. Its exports of medical equipment and supplies to the US grew 20 percent in the year 2002. Interphex Mexico to be held at Centro Banomex, Mexico City from June 27-30, 2006, will certainly be a great facilitator in turning the spotlight into the happening pharma and medical devices sectors in Mexico. The event will showcase the equipment, products and services used for processing, manufacturing and packaging of pharmaceuticals and biopharmaceuticals in Mexico. It will also feature products and services for medical device manufacturers in the areas of design, production and manufacturing. Over 75 exhibitors are expected to participate in the event. Current exhibitors include Pall Life Sciences, Burket, Everst VIT, Contec, Helix Medical, Powder Systems, Saint-Gobain, Millipore, Westec, Fluid Line, Alleghany Bradford, Nilfisk Advance, RCM Tech, Incite and Active Power. Interphex Mexico is co-locating with the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute's (PMMI) Expo Pack and Procesa events. This will provide pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing professionals the opportunity to visit both shows, advancing the time they need to seek manufacturing, machinery and packaging solutions. Expo Pack México offers exclusive access to the packaging industry in Mexico and Central America. Over 700 exhibitors are expected to showcase packaging and processing machinery, materials, components and containers, providing proven solutions for processing, packaging, storing and distributing your products in the show. Procesa , the food and beverage processing machinery and equipment show for Mexican end-users, will feature the newest developments in processing machinery and technology. Visitors to Interphex Mexico will consist of processing professionals from engineering management to technical personnel, and will include core titles such as Production Manufacturing, Quality Assurance/ Quality Control, Plants/ Facilities, Purchasing, Packaging and general management. Medical device manufacturers will showcase products and technologies for the design and manufacturing of medical devices.
