Interphex India, which debuts in India from 13-15, September 2007 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai, will target at least 80 to 100 foreign exhibitors. This would work out to roughly one third of the total participation expected at the show. Already Reed Exhibitions, the event organisers, have started aggressively marketing the show in various countries, especially in North America and Europe. Interphex plans to promote and advertise the event in about 45 international industry media. About one hundred thousand mails have already been sent to potential exhibitors and visitors across the world. The event is also being promoted all over the world through Reed Exhibitions offices in 23 countries. Reed Exhibitions has also started an office in New Delhi and plans to open another one in Mumbai soon, John Stuttard, Reed Exhibitions' vice president - international brand development for Interphex said. Interphex India will be held concurrently with the Indian Pharmaceutical Association's (IPA) annual conference. The multi- stream conference will address essential technical, compliance and regulatory issues identified as relevant to Indian industry, providing an opportunity to view the latest solutions from the key players in the industry. The International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers (ISPE) also endorses the show. Pharmabiz, the leading pharmaceutical publication in South Asia will be the event's premier media sponsor, said John. The show is expected to draw 6000 senior level visitors from the drug-manufacturing sector. He also said that efforts are on to ensure participation of leading South Asian pharma machinery, processing and other allied sector manufacturers. India is emerging as a global pharma power centre and Interphex India will bring together the best of global and local technology and manufacturing, said John. Interphex India is organised by Reed Exhibitions, which manages over 440 trade shows across the world annually and is the 8th global Interphex show. Others Interphex global events include USA, Peurto Rico, Japan, Singapore, and UK. New additions to the brand include Mexico, China and India. The India event will cater to the requirements of the Indian and South Asian pharmaceutical industry. It will have international standards and an Indian face, rather than replicating the Interphex shows in the West, said John.
