The NPPA has revised the prices of four bulk drugs, glipizide, chloroquine phosphate, ibuprofen and vitamin E acetate.
While the prices of ibuprofen increased by Rs.39 and chloroquine phosphate by Rs.58, prices of glipizide cut by Rs.2340 and that of vitamin E acetate by Rs.88.
As per the notification number S.O. 1046(E) dated 11th July 2006, maximum sale price exclusive of excise duty and local taxes will be Rs.29244 for one kg of glipizide, Rs. 763 for a Kg. of chloroquine phosphate, Rs.408 for one kg of ibuprofen and Rs.815 per kg for vitamin E acetate (dlaTocopheryl Acetate).
Ibuprofen had a price of Rs.369 per kg and vitamin E acetate was priced Rs 903 per kg as per a revision in prices by NPPA on 27th March, this year. Glipizide was priced Rs.31584 per kg., which was revised about two years ago, on 13.08.2004. Chloroquine phosphate was priced Rs.705 per kg as per the revision on 27TH March, 2006.
The new prices will be effective within 15 days from the date of notification in the Official Gazette, informed NPPA.
