Dr Arvind K Bansal gets Innocentive Award

Dr Arvind K. Bansal, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Technology (Formulations) at National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) has been awarded the Innocentive Award for the second time, in the area of formulation development. Innocentive (www.innocentive.com) is a web-based community, allowing top scientists to address challenges faced by chemical and pharmaceutical companies around the globe. Arvind K Bansal is M.Pharm. (Pharmaceutics) and Ph.D. degree holder from University of Delhi, India. His current research interests include a thermodynamic and kinetic characterization of pharmaceutical amorphous systems, improvement of aqueous solubility using a stabilized a high-energy amorphous state, particle engineering to improve functionality of pharmaceutical powders, polymorphism and development of conventional and advanced drug delivery systems. He has earlier spent 8 years in the R&D division of pharmaceutical industry at JK Drugs and Pharmaceuticals and Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited as senior research scientist and as group leader. He was involved in the development of generic drug products and pre-formulation of NCEs. Dr.Bansal has over 25 research publications in peer-reviewed journals and has filed 9 patents in the area of formulation development and solubility improvement.
