The Bangalore-based Wipro BioMed, the healthcare division of Wipro Limited, said it had entered into an agreement with Ciphergen Biosystems Inc to market the latter's ProteinChip Systems and Solutions.
The alliance empowers Wipro BioMed to market Ciphergen systems & Solutions products in India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal region, a Wipro release said.
Varsha Anand, vice president, Wipro BIoMed said, there is a huge potential for Ciphergen's ProteinChip Technology in India as most drug targets are proteins.
Among the many current trends impacting health care, Biomarker research is expected to bring pharmaceutical and diagnostics sectors closer together. Areas of Diabetes, Cancer, HIV and lipid disorders are attracting more investments in research.
