The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organising its 3rd international conference 'Pharma Summit 2006' on September 14, 2006 at Mumbai under the chairmanship of Ajay Piramal, chairman, Nicholas Piramal India Ltd. The Summit is supported by Bulk Drug Manufacturers Association (BDMA), Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council (Pharmexcil) and Indian Drug Manufacturers' Association (IDMA) with KPMG as the Knowledge Partner and CNBC TV18 as the Media Partner.
Pharma Summit would address contemporary issues that are faced by the pharmaceutical industry in India. The focus will be on keeping pace with the rapidly changing dynamics of this sector and on evolving consensus on important policy issues. The Summit would also focus on global challenges and how they can be addressed given the internal and external pressures. The platform will also be used to set a vision for India to move up the volume and value chain from its current global ranking of 4th & 13th respectively.
The Summit would emphasis on the preparedness of the Indian pharmaceutical sector to compete with the world-class, thus the theme "India Pharma Inc. - Going Global".
The objectives are: Focus on strategies, tools and a complete competitiveness kit for the sector as it prepares to meet the new challenges and capture the emerging opportunities.
