Global Bio Pharma Conference to be held at Hyderabad from 9 to 12, 2006

The second Global Bio Pharma Conference 2006 is scheduled to be held in Hyderabad between November 9 and 12, 2006.The venue is the Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. The event is going to be held in collaboration with the University of Buffalo and the State University of New York. The theme for this year event is 'Synergies in the Global Biotechnology Industry'. The main objective of the conference is to bring in a synergy of activities in the global biotech sector. The four-day event is expected to bring in a combination of technical case studies by those who have been successful in this synergism between East and West. The business session will feature examples of emerging opportunities. For the first time in the country, an intensive biotech entrepreneur boot camp will be organized by Dr Stephen M Sammut who will provide a total overview of the business models, approaches to strategy development adopted by companies to generate value-added products and revenues. It will also provide trends and opportunities in the biotechnology sector. There will also be parallel workshops on innovative technologies and processes, apart from cGMP regulations in biopharmaceutical development. The event, which is held, once in three years is expected to create an impact, said Dr Suresh Krishnam, Clinical Trial Consultant and Committee Member, Global Bio Pharma Conference Group. Indian biotechnology sector is expected to grow at a phenomenal pace in the next three years. The industry is expected to register three-fold increase in revenues from expected will grow three-folds in terms of industry from US $ 1.5 billion in 2005 to US $ 10 billion in 2010. Such conference would allow the biotech sector to generate the required momentum in terms of development, Dr Krishnam added. The conference will bring speakers from US, EU and Asia who represents leading biotech companies, government agencies and research institutes to discuss the potential of the sector. The last conference, which was held in 2004 at Mumbai with the theme 'Emerging Issues, Challenges and Opportunities in the New Millennium', brought about interactive participative network opportunities for more than 200 delegates. This year over 300 participants are expected. The Global Bio Pharma Conference Group is a non-profit entity comprising highly qualified professionals.
