DIA to hold conference on clinical research in New Jersey on Sept 18, 19

The Philadelphia-based Drug Information Association (DIA) is organising a conference on 'Clinical Research and Drug Registration in China and India' at The Westin Princeton at Forrestral Village, Princeton, New Jersey on September 18 and 19, 2006. The conference aims to provide a detailed analysis of what it takes to conduct clinical trials in China and India, and will address risk benefit balance, experiences of multinational pharmaceutical industry in China and India, selection and role of CROs, logistics of operations, clinical trials management, government policies (including IPR issues) and pharmacovigilance. Speakers from various regulatory bodies such as US FDA, SFDA, CDSCO; industry experts who have hands-on experience in conducting studies in India and China; legal experts; high level government officials from India and China will be present at the conference. The keynote address will be given by Dr William Haseltine, founder of Human Genome Sciences and chairman and CEO, Haseltine Global Health. Dr David A Lepay, senior advisor for Clinical Science and director, Good Clinical Practice Programmes, Office of the Science and Health coordination, Office of the Commissioner, US FDA will be making the special address at the conference. Senior experts from government, industry, academia and leading contract research organisations taking part in a panel discussion will offer insights on the emerging markets for drug development in India and China.
