Dr Vanga Reddy of AICTE bags APTI Life Time Achievement Award

The Association of Pharmacy Teachers of India's Shri Bhojraj Panjamool Life Time Achievement Award was bagged by Dr Vanga Reddy, currently emeritus fellow in Pharmacy AICTE and Vaagdevi College of Pharmacy, Warangal, Andhra Pradesh. The award was given away by the Union Minister of Planning MV Rajashekaran who was the chief guest at the 11th Annual National Convention 2006, Association of Pharmacy Teachers of India. Among the other awards were presented on the occasion were Dr VK Kapoor, Punjab was conferred with the GP Srivatsava Memorial Award. The Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (IPER) Principal of the Year 2006 went to Dr Pramod Govind Rao Yeole, Principal Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Bargaon, Wardha Maharashtra. Bharati Vidyapeeth's Pharmacy Teacher of the Year 2006 went to Prof. Dr Yamasani Madhusudan Rao, professor at Kakatiya University, Warangal. APTI Young Teachers of the Year 2006 went to Dr D Sriram, assistant professor, BITS Pilani, Rajasthan. APTI Dr Mrs. Manjushree Pal Memorial Award for Pharmaceutical Scientists of the Year 2006 went to Dr Rama Krishna Devaraya Konda, professor and dean faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kakatiya University, Warangal. Late Smt. Kamala Ben Vavia Memorial Award for the winner of the essay contest went to Indu Shankar, Al Ameen, College of Pharmacy. Under the list of winners for articles published in the Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical Education and Research(IJPER) between January to December 2005, the SB Sonawane Memorial Award in Pharmaceutical Chemistry went to Yadav AV and Bhise SB, Government College of Pharmacy, Karad for the topic 'Chitin and Chitosan: Versatile Polysaccharides of clinical importance'. Dr RL Nicore Award in Pharmaceutics went to Jessy Shaji and Vishvesh Joshi, KMK College of Pharmacy, Mumbai for the topic 'Emulsifying Drug Delivery System for improving bio availability of hydrophobic drugs and its potential to give sustain release dosage form. Prof. B M Mittal Award in Pharma Education was bagged by Ashok Baliga K and G Subramanian, M Sreenivasa Reddy and Udapa of Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences for the topic Pharma regulatory affairs: An academic perspective. Al-Ameen College of Pharmacy Award in Pharmacognosy was received by SP Bhatnagar, S Ganguly, P Paul and P Pandey of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi. Prof. Duggirala Visweswaram and Prof. Sreemantula Satyanaryana Award in Pharmacology were bagged by I J Kuppast and P Vasudeva Nayak, National College of Pharmacy, Shimoga. Late Smt. VG Yeole Memorial Award in Pharmacy Practice went to Ramesh M, Parthasarthy G and Anand B Harugeri of JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysore. St. John's Pharmacy College Award in Pharmaceutical Analysis went to PN Sanjay Pai, Gopalakrishna Rao, B Balakrishna, Hamid Khan and K Pasha of Al Ameen College of Pharmacy, Bangalore. The IJPE Award for Review articles went to MN Purohit, GV Pujar and Mayur of JSS pharmacy College, Mysore and VL College of Pharmacy Raichur.
