Hasit Joshipura will be new vice president of GSK Pharma, India

GSK plc has announced changes at the helm of its operations in the Indian sub-continent. Kal Sundaram, vice president and general manager, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will assume a new assignment in GSK International with effect from January 1st, 2007. Mr Sundaram's next assignment will be announced shortly. Hasit Joshipura will join GSK as its vice president and general manager designate from October 2006. Mr Joshipura is the president and executive director of the pharmaceuticals business at Johnson & Johnson, Mumbai. Commenting on the announcement Mr Kal Sundaram said, "Handling South Asia operations have been an exhilarating experience given its unique challenges in my 18 year international career at GSK. Managing intricate dynamics of rapid change, scale of operations, people and environment has been a great learning experience which excites me to look forward to my forthcoming assignment." Mr Hasit Joshipura will formally take over from Mr Sundaram from January 01, 2007 and will be based in Mumbai.
