ISB, OPPI to organize 'Healthcare and Pharma Summit' at Hyderabad on Nov 4

The Healthcare Club of Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad, is organising its flagship event 'The Healthcare and Pharma Summit' at its premises on November 4, 2006. This one day conference is open to all top and middle level managers, cross functional managers, professionals and students connected with the Pharma and Healthcare sectors. ISB is hosting this summit in partnership with the Organisation of Pharmaceutical Producers of India. This event is the first student led industry summit with professionals from the fields of pharma, biotech, healthcare and IT to a common platform. This year ISB is partnering with leading industry bodies towards developing new paradigms for the industry in India and beyond. The theme for the Summit this year is 'Indian Healthcare Industry - Evolving Paradigms', Dr V Biju Mohandas, president, Healthcare Club, ISB told Pharmabiz. Intellectual property rights management, mergers and acquisitions, clinical and contract research, health insurance, rural healthcare, medical tourism, among others, will be discussed. Eminent speakers from different verticals of the Healthcare community in India will discuss the current growth strategies and business environment and at the same time throw light on new opportunities, challenges and the future of the industry, he informed. Ajay Piramal, chairman, Nicholas Piramal India; Ranjit Shahani, VC and MD, Novartis India will be the keynote speakers. Other prominent speakers include Ajit Dangi director general, OPPI; Kewal Handa, MD, Pfizer; Sangita Reddy, executive director, Apollo Hospitals Group; Vishal Bali, CEO, Wockhardt Hospitals; Dr P Namperumalswamy, Aravind Eye Hospital who will take part in two sessions. Dr Varaprasad Reddy, founder and MD, Shanta Biotech; Ranga Iyer, MD, Wyeth; Nilesh Gupta, executive VP, Lupin Pharma; Alok Gupta, country head-Life Sciences and Biotechnology, YES Bank will take part in a panel discussion on 'Indian Pharma in the Global Game', moderated by Utkarsh Palnitkar of Ernst and Young.
