The Dubai Biotechnology and Research Park (DuBiotech) is extending its medical and humanitarian support to Lebanon, which is in need of medical supplies following the war, said reports. Named the 'Medicine for Lebanon' campaign, the venture is a collaboration with Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment and UAE Red Crescent Authority, according to a press statement. Dr Abdul Qader Al Khayat, executive director of DuBiotech said the free-zone research park was embarking on the campaign to "alleviate the terrible suffering of the Lebanese people" within the spirit of Ramadan. "The hospitals in Lebanon have an urgent need for medical supplies and medicines. Through this campaign, we want to galvanise the support of the public and corporate organisations, pharmaceutical companies and hospitals to help raise funds and supplies for Lebanon," he said. The statement went on to say that the 'Medicine for Lebanon' campaign would conclude with a special fund raising event in November.
