Kerala Pharmacy Council President, M N V G Adiyodi dead

M N V G Adiyodi, president of Kerala State Pharmacy Council (KSPC) for the last two decades, died on last Thursday after a prolonged illness. He was 56 and had been undergoing treatment for cancer for the last several months. Adiyodi started his career as a pharmacist in the state health and family welfare department and got retired as store verification officer. He had served as president of the Kerala State Pharmacy Council from 1985 to 2006 and was instrumental to earmark several ideas through the council. Under his leadership, the council has set its own office at Thiruvananthapuram and commenced continuous education classes for the registered pharmacists. The Pharmaceutical Society of Kerala, a unique model society under KSPC to provide various schemes for the pharmacists in the state, has been set up during his tenure. He was also working as the chairman of the Joint Council of State Service Organisations (JCSSO) and a member of the CPI national council. His body has cremated in the premises of Pharmaceutical Society of Kerala office, Kozhikode on Friday noon.
