Our Bureau, MumbaiThursday, November 2, 2006, 08:00 Hrs  [IST]

The Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has extended anti dumping duties on imports of D (-) Para Hydroxy Phe-nyl Glycine Base (PHPG Base), origination in, orexported from, Singapore. For recommending the continuation of the anti-dumping duties, the authorities made the following findings in a mid term review: *The subject goods have been exported to India from Singapore below its normal value resulting into dumping and there is a likelihood of continued dumping of subject goods from Singapore if anti dumping duty from subject goods is withdrawn *The domestic industry continues to suffer material injury on account of the dumped imports of the subject goods from Singapore. The authority found it appropriate that anti dumping duty is required to be continued as modified in respect of imports from Singapore, as withdrawal would lead to continuation of dumping and injury. The anti dumping duty under this notification shall be effective up to and inclusive of 14th day of February 2007 and anti dumping duty shall be paid Indian currency, said an official release.
