Trivitron Medical Systems (TMS), a leading company in the diagnostic equipments, will be setting up a medical technology park in Chennai. TMS has entered into a joint venture agreement with Aloka Co Ltd, Japan, one of the leading diagnostic equipment manufacturers in the world, for the purpose. Neusoft Group, China's largest Medical Technology solutions will also be a partner in the new facility.
The park will be built on 250 to 500 acres of land with a total investment of Rs 250 crore. The probable site for the construction of the facility would be Sriperambadur, though other areas in Chennai are also considered.
In the proposed Park, Neusoft and other medical equipment companies would be setting up their units. The equity participation of the joint venture partners is yet to be decided. "We were initially planning to set up the site in Bangalore, but later we thought it would be feasible to establish the facility in Chennai. The facility would manufacture laser imager, bio analyzer and PACS solution," said Dr G S K. Velu, managing director, Trivitron Group of Companies.
Velu added that there were plans to establish direct marketing strategy in Dubai soon. It may be noted that Trivitron had its centre 'Star Trivitron' during September 2006 in Dubai Health Care City. "We will be establishing direct marketing in a JV Model or direct office mode. The medical equipments that would be manufactured in India will be distributed in the domestic market as well as in Middle East, Africa and South East Asian and South Asian countries," averred Velu.
He added that there was plans to market the infusion pumps and syringe pumps manufactured by the company in the European market and were waiting for the CE mark (European conformity).
