Analytica Anacon events held for the pharma instrumentation sector is tailored to suit the requirements of the fast growing market in India. This trade fair provides a unique opportunity to visitors to have a view of the total range of latest products in analytical instruments, laboratory information systems and scientific equipment.
The first and the second edition of the Analytica Anacon was held at Mumbai. This year the organizers moved down south to set-up by the exhibition at Bangalore. The venue is Palace Grounds and the two day bi-annual event will be held Between November 16-18, 2006.
One of the key drivers to Bangalore was the presence of a large number of scientific and research institutes. Notable among are the Indian Institute of Science, National Centre for Biological Sciences, Jawaharlal Centre for Advanced Research Centre, National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, Institute of Aerospace Research among others.
The event is a combined project by the Indian Analytical Instruments Association (IAIA) and International Exhibition And Fair Service of Messe Munchem GmbH. While the Analytica, Munich, Germany is the world's leading trade fair established in 1968 for instrumental analysis, biotechnology, diagnostics and laboratory technology, the IMAG has been actively involved in the Indian market since 1983. It currently organizes several events in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore annually.
This year more than 120 exhibitors are participating in the show occupying 2,500 sq. mt area. The special attraction for the show is the German pavilion housing various companies from Germany. The trade show has also attracted companies from Japan, United Kingdom, Australia, Taiwan and South Korea. The companies from Bangalore include Automed, Waters, Sartorius, Millipore, Shiva Analyticals and Wipro Biomed.
According to the organizers, the event is expected to attract the cream of visitors. The instrumentation companies have also taken the opportunity to launch a series of new products.
Although the event will primarily focus on the chemistry application instruments, for microbiology-driven application like Automed it will act as a base to attract experts from the quality assurance and quality control departments of companies, stated Bhanu Prakash, director, Automed Systems.
According to Millipore, the event is a platform to meet and discuss the latest developments. Sources from Sartorius pointed out that this edition is expected to add the much- needed scientific research flavour because it is held in the science capital of the country, Bangalore.
"In terms of interactions and exhibits we look at the Analytica Anacon as an event to increase our customers base,'' added sources from Waters.
