Millipore, the leader in water purification systems has launched the new Milli-Q Advantage with Q-POD for the Indian market. The product is being unveiled at the Analytica-Anacon 2006 being held in Bangalore at the Palace Grounds between November 16 and 18, 2006. The Q-POD or Quality -Point-of-Delivery is a new delivery concept which ensures that the most critical step in water purification is the delivery if top quality ultra-pure water at the point of use. The novel product provides final finishing at the point of use and empowers users in pharma, biotech and scientific institutions with convenient dispensing options. Choices of polishing filters are available for this final purification step and two Q-PODs can be connected to the production unit. The advantages of this breakthrough are obvious and hence the name Advantage. By changing the polishing filter at the dispensing point on the Q-POD, users can get water to suit their particular application. There is no need for a separate system. Depending on the user's application, specific contaminants can affect research results. By changing the final purifiers, one gets water that is just right for the research application. The system's dual monitoring control feature allows control over both ionic and organic contaminants with a new method based on a primary cell design of high precision resistivity meter conforming to USP<645> suitability requirements and a TOC meter that accurately monitors 1-999ppb which meets the USP<643> requirements. The other revolutionary option is providing users relevant data about water quality and system status on the Q-POD itself. The multicolour graphic display allows easy interaction with the system. This stops the needs to walk around the lab as the control lies in the user's hand. The Q-PODs have flexible dispensing with a dispenser that is not only removable but also capable of 360-degree rotation. A variable product flow rate allows users to adapt the flow rate to their application - from drop to drop to 2L/min it produces low TOC water (<5ppb) with a built in 185/254 nm UV lamp It also does away with queues and delays by making the final product quality water available at two different points in the same lab through two Q-PODs . Millipore is a multinational bioscience company that provides technologies for the discovery, development and production of new therapeutic drugs. It serves the life science research, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.
