Vimta Labs to add clinical research staff strength to 1500 by 2010

Vimta Labs Ltd, a Hyderabad based leading clinical research organization, will be increasing its staff strength from 600 to 1500 by 2010. The company has recently opened its new learning centre for CROs at its campus. The company is focusing on providing entire technical knowledge to the CROs. India is growing rapidly in this segment and to compete with advances made by international companies Vimta is introducing all the latest technical capabilities in its facility. Speaking with Pharmabiz, Dr S P Vasireddi chairman and managing director, said, "We like to make our strong backbone in the Indian CROs history. We are catering to the needs of pharmaceutical industry worldwide. We are planning to increase our staff strength for clinical research to 1500 and it is our hope to become among the top ten worldwide CROs by the end of 2010." The company has around 600 staff and every year it is recruiting around 200-250 people. Currently, it has around Rs 380 core market capitalisation in the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The company has more than 15 per cent annual growth rate.
