The scientific body of the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) has prepared 92 new draft monographs, planning to include them in the next edition of the Indian Pharmacopoeia (IP).
The Commission has called in suggestions and modifications from the manufacturers and users of these items, as part of the process of finalization before making them official entries in the IP as the mandatory national standards.
``In the absence of any inputs from the users, for whose benefit these monographs are being prepared, these will get finalised by the IPC. These may not always be exactly acceptable to the users,'' IPC member secretary-cum-scientific director Dr G N Singh said.
He said the copies of the draft are available from him (ipclab@vsnl.net) and suggestions to be sent by the middle of December itself to enable the scientific body to take them into consideration.
``Any amendment suggested to the draft monographs will be intimated to those users who will effectively participate in finalisation of the specific monographs of their interest,'' Dr Singh said.
