Aurobindo gets MCC marketing approval for sertraline

Aurobindo Pharma Ltd has announced that it has received another marketing authorization approval from Medicines Control Council (MCC) of South Africa. The council has approved sertraline tablets in 50mg and 100mg strengths. South African market is highly regulated and very important in its Geographical sphere. The company by bagging this approval enhances its stance in this market as with Sertraline, the company has six of its products approved. Sertraline is the generic version of Zoloft marketed by Pfizer. Sertraline hydrochloride is a popular orally administered antidepressant of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) type. Sertraline today commands a market of 34 mio USD in South Africa.
