The Pharmaceutical Society of Kerala, the subsidiary of Kerala State Pharmacy Council (KSPC), will be holding a three-day national pharmaceutical conference in Kerala during the last week of May this year. The conference will be held with the support of AICTE and Pharmacy Council of India. Speaking about the conference, K G Revikumar, chairman of the Pharmaceutical Society of Kerala (PSK), said that the seminar would focus mainly on the hospital pharmacy, community pharmacy, clinical pharmacy and pharmacy education in the country. The primary objectives of the conference are: to prepare a vision statement related to the pharmacy provision in India for the year 2015 and to form a Trust in the name of the former president of the PSK, MNVG Adiyodi. The Trust will be active in providing endowments and awards to the people related to the pharma sector throughout the country. Even the fresher in the pharma teaching sector will be eligible for the award. "We are dedicating this Trust to our past president as he has brought in a lot of development for this sector in Kerala. The endowments and awards will be given at a national level and it will be a motivation for the industry. Already the KSPC is doing such activities in Kerala," said Revikumar. He said, that around 20000 delegates from different parts of the country are expected to attend the conference. Though it is a national seminar, many faculty and experts from international institutions are also expected to attend the conference and share their views. The place for the seminar has not yet been finalised.
