Artemis Health Sciences ties up with Philips Medical Systems

Artemis Health Sciences Pvt. Ltd has signed a $7 million technology partnership with Netherlands-based Philips Medical Systems upgrade the Artemis Health Institute (AHI) at Gurgaon in Haryana. As part of the deal, Philips, one of the market leaders and innovators in healthcare systems, would supply 60 per cent of the equipments required for the AHI to make it at par with world class hospitals. Artemis Health Sciences is a wholly owned subsidiary of PTL Enterprises Ltd, promoted by Onkar S Kanwar, the chairman of Apollo Tyres Group. Royal Philips Electronics of the Netherlands is a global leader in healthcare, lifestyle and technology, with $ 34 million sales. Philips will also collaborate with AHI in its worldwide research and development efforts. This collaboration will allow Philips to get real time scientific data from India, which can be used for product development and upgrade in various imaging modalities like PET CT, MR, and Cardiac CT, company officials said. Starting its operations from April this year in Gurgaon, Artemis Health Sciences is introducing for the first time Intelligent critical patient monitoring System with clinical decision support application with portal imaging technology, film less and paperless Environment (seamless integration with the Hospital Information System). An endovascular suite, functional MRI scanning using Non - Contrast Imaging for Cancers (DWIBS), MRI - PET fusion technology and 3 D dynamic road mapping for reconstructive imaging will also be the specialities of the AHI. AHI will be a tertiary care hospital with over 500 beds. The first phase of the hospital, with 260 operational beds, will commence operations by April 2007. The hospital is designed and constructed conforming to international guidelines.
