Pune based college organised seminar on clinical research

The Poona District Education Association's Seth Govind Raghunath Sable College of Pharmacy in association with the Pune branch of IPA has organised a lecture on 'clinical research today's tool for tomorrow's success' on January 8, 2007. Addressing the seminar Dr P V Bodhe, vice president, Clinisearch Biotechnologies, has explained about the phases of clinical trials in the drug development such as target identification, lead identification, lead optimisation and clinical phases. He has also talk on the future of this area and the job opportunities in this area. He stated, that as India being a country with lot of biological and environmental variation, it is the best place to conduct clinical trials. The multinational companies who are conducting clinical trials in India needed experts and knowledgeable staff to meet their requirements. So the budding pharmacists have lot of opportunities in the clinical trials, he added. Dr M D Burande, president of IPA, Pune branch, has given information about the various activities organised by them at the seminar.
