Artemis Health enters in healthcare business

Artemis Health Sciences Pvt Ltd, an Apollo Tyres Group company, has plans to establish a 500-bed capacity hospital at Gurgaon at an investment of Rs 200 crore. The first phase of the hospital with 260 operational beds will commence operations by April 2007.The proposed hospital would be a multi-super speciality facility with specialisations in oncology, cardio-thoracic, orthopaedics and musculo-skeletal diseases. Talking to Pharmabiz, Dr Kushagra Katariya, CEO Artemis Health Science (AHS), said, "We have raised Rs 200 crore fund internally through PTL Enterprises Ltd., which is promoted by Onkar S Kanwar, the chairman of Apollo Tyres Group. Recently, we entered into partnership with Philips, leading international healthcare technology company, which would help us to attain excellence in healthcare delivery," "AHS is also planning to set up an all-India network of such facilities in cities where such facilities are not available at present. We will expand our operations in the next five years to other metro cities. The demand for such hospital services is going up every day," he further added. The key promoter, PTL Enterprises Ltd, is planning to manufacture high technology hospital consumables and is in talks with some of the international companies. It also plans to set up an institute for medical training and education for nurses and paramedics. AHS has set up its latest equipment and infrastructure for predictive, diagnostic and therapeutic imaging (64 slice CT Scanners, 3T MRI, PET, Linear Accelerator, Optical Mammography, Dual Head Gamma Camera, etc), highest level of in-patient monitoring, paperless and film less hospital information system in collaboration with world technology leaders. Additionally, the hospital also have the facilities of the Cath Labs with a stent boost (software visualization tools), 64 Channel CT Machine with step and shoot technology (reduces X-Ray radiation by 83%), Intelligent Ultrasound/Echo technology, PET CT Machine, 3 Tesla MRI machine, whole body imaging with contrast and high end spectroscopy. The hospital is designed and constructed conforming to international guidelines, and will set new benchmarks in the delivery of healthcare in India.
