Venus Remedies inaugurates plants at Baddi for anticancer formulations

Venus Remedies Ltd has recently inaugurated the phase II of its Baddi project in March 2007. The company at its Baddi facility has inaugurated two new-dedicated plants for carbapenem and lyophilized anticancer formulations, in injectible form. The Rs 100 crore Baddi project, to be completed in four phases by end of 2007, has provision for 8 dedicated plants for injectible formulations and a hi-tech R&D centre. Out of these, the first phase, with dedicated plants for cephalosporins and oncology liquid injectibles, has been in operation since October 2005. The company has created most modern, fully automatic manufacturing facilities, strictly as per international guidelines, which can match the best of facilities worldwide. The new plants have been put on trial runs and the commercial production is to start from the first week of April. The company is the first company in India to have a dedicated plant for carbapenems. Along with this, the company has completely renovated its unit I at Panchkula as per international pharmaceutical guidelines and is now a unique facility in glass infusion manufacturing facilities in entire India. The ultra-modern, fully automatic facility has been built up to international benchmarks and shall be manufacturing primarily, specialty, and high-end infusions for export markets. The company's manufacturing facilities are already GMP. WHO-GMP, ISO-9001, 14001 and 18001, Ukranian GMP and INVIMA GMP accredited and these additional facilities for exclusive lyophilised and Carbapenem formulations shall further bolster the company's overseas market penetration.
